The project addressed by the Ministry of Environment of the Government of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia in collaboration with the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, Formulation of a Proposal Transcontinental Biosphere Reserve has a pioneering, given that none of Transboundary Reserves reported so far presents the same administrative and management complexity due to the separation of its territory in two continents. The project was carried out on the one hand based on the Community Initiative Program INTERREGIIIA (2000-2006) Andalusia, Morocco and the other based on the figure of Biosphere Reserve, part of the MAB Programme UNESCO. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF RBIM ARE:

- Objective 1: To strengthen the capacity of local institutions and / or regional and establish joint governance frameworks around the Intercontinental Biosphere Reserve of the Mediterranean (RBIM) INTEGRARBIM includes an institutional and operational strengthening program that uses the RBIM establish a coordination model and a business model, both border, accompanied by measures to encourage mobility and interconnections within the space of cooperation RBIM.
